Dessert Cook / Pastry Cook

The Dessert Cook (Pastry Cook) is responsible for preparing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and strong time-management skills to ensure consistent quality and timely service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake desserts, pastries, cakes, cookies, tarts, and other sweet items.

Follow established recipes, portioning guidelines, and presentation standards.

Assist in developing new dessert items and seasonal menu specials.

Monitor oven and equipment temperatures to ensure proper baking.

Maintain inventory of dessert ingredients and report shortages to the chef.

Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and finished products.

Keep the pastry station clean, organized, and compliant with food-safety standards.

Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate dessert timing with meal service.

Decorate and garnish desserts elegantly and consistently.

Adhere to all sanitation, hygiene, and safety regulations.

Experience as a Dessert Cook, Pastry Cook, or similar baking role (preferred).

Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation.

Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent output.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Creativity and interest in pastry arts.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
