A local employer is looking for a builder! This is a full time position, 40 hours per week with away work! Are you keen to start a hands-on career in building? We’re looking for a motivated Apprentice Builder to join our team working on Marae projects across the Bay of Plenty. You'll gain practical experience alongside skilled tradespeople while contributing to culturally significant builds and renovations. Job Requirements
- Must have completed level 3 building course or equivalent experience with sound knowledge of using power tools including saws. - At least restricted class 1 license. They will need to be at work office/pick up point as early as 5am so will need reliable transport to get on site where there is a work van where they can get in to and go to sites during the day - able to commit to an apprenticeship which ranges from 3-4 years - Ability to work & stay away 3 nights per week. When working away from the local areas its usually within the Bay of Plenty region but can go as far as Gisborne - 4 days on / 3 days off - 10 Hour days - Willing to undertake level 4 apprenticeship - Mandatory pre-employment drug test - Must be able to pass ministry of justice check (case by case scenario considered) - only minor convictions will be accepted -must be physically fit & strong. Comfortable with manual labour/heavy lifting/being on your feet for long periods -comfortable working outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions
