Trainee Heavy Transport Fabrication

Local company currently require a trainee engineer/fabricator to join our busy team here in Invercargill. Work involves transport & general engineering, manufacturing & repairs in our well-equipped workshop.

In this job you will develop the skills required to read engineering drawings, operate a range of machinery, and fabricate structures to a very high standard. Duties will include -Assisting senior engineers -Keeping workshop tidy -Delivering/Picking up items -Operating machines, cutting, grinding, and sanding. -This will include other general duties required for running the business smoothly What you will be doing to start with will depend on experience and skill level.

Can be a physically demanding job that involves heavy lifting.

This role has the potential to turn into a Heavy Fabrication Apprenticeship.

- Any relevant experience will be a bonus (engineering or welding experience) - Mechanically minded and good working with their hands, able to operate power/hand tools - Someone open and willing to learn - Reliable with a strong attention to detail - Physically fit, able to lift up to 25kg - Convictions will be considered on a case by case basis (no serious convictions) - Minimum restricted license - own reliable transport (preferred, need to be reliable)
