Kiwifruit picker

Are you keen to work in the outdoors and make the most of our amazing weather during our kiwifruit harvest period? Come and gain first-hand practical experience in the field working in our orchards in the Eastern Bay of Plenty region. Our roles suit persons who enjoy outdoor work, are motivated, fit and are good team players. This work involves being on your feet for long periods of time and working above head and shoulder height for long periods. For health and safety reasons, closed footwear must be worn on-orchard – gumboots are suitable. Have transport issues? Limited transport is available on a first in first serve basis from Opotiki township to the site. As work is weather dependant, flexibility to work any day to make up the hours is critical. Contracts will run from 16 March through to 24 May for Harvest with some contracts being renewed until end of winter pruning 19 September 2026

Although 1 year experience is preferred, all levels are considered Able to carry up to 25kg so no previous shoulder injuries Able to work any day between 7.00am and 6.00pm Able to get to and from work reliably Pass random drug test Some criminal convictions may be considered but not serious offences e.g. aggravated robbery, GBH, weapons, assault etc.
