Qualified Phytosanitary Inspector (Waipapa)

Kainui Pack & Cool Ltd is a family-owned horticulture business that grows, picks and packs kiwifruit and citrus in Kerikeri.

We are looking for 2 qualified Phytosanitary person to grade inspections of our kiwifruit and citrus. This is a full-time fixed-term position which requires some flexibility with work days and hours during our busy packing season. This position commences in February for 8 months but may start earlier for the right applicant.

Your responsibilities are:

• To implement phytosanitary and grade inspection and food safety procedures and to ensure that product meets all Zespri and citrus specifications. • To be fully conversant with the Zespri Quality Manual. • To be able to work as a part of a team. • To liaise with Zespri Quality Assessor staff.

Accommodation may be available for the right applicant.

• Training is provided to the candidate that already has their Zespiri CCP2 competency at time of employment.

To be successful with your application you will need:

• At least one season’s experience as a Phytosanitary Inspector and Zespri CCP2 competency. • The ability to communicate clearly with workmates and managers. • The ability to commit to some evening and weekend work during the packing season. • Competent computer skills and record keeping. • Reliable transport to work. • Attention to detail with an eye for quality. • Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is required for all applicants. • Can pass MOJ checks (criminal conviction) case by case basis.
