Trainee Chef

A position has arisen for a trainee chef in a busy Cafe group with several outlets around Rotorua. You will be trained in bread making, sandwiches, making cakes slices etc and the making of pies, working with pastry etc as well as hot counter service foods.

This role requires weekend, and some public holiday work, especially during peak seasons. Rostered days, with typical daily hours would be from 5am to 1pm, however flexibility is required.

• Previous kitchen experience in a cafe, restaurant, or function setting (ideal for a developing chef). • A strong interest in fresh, seasonal food and creative presentation. • Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently under direction. • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
