Trade Assistant - Installing and Insulation

The Trades Assistant supports the installation of Passive Fire protection systems or insulation and cladding on mechanical and plumbing services across commercial construction projects. This role requires adherence to safety standards, quality compliance, and flexibility to work across both divisions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Install Passive Fire systems and/or insulation and cladding on mechanical and plumbing services in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, building codes, and best practices.

Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety policies, actively identifying hazards, attending toolbox talks, and promoting a positive safety culture on-site.

Maintain quality standards and documentation, reporting any product issues, variations, or changes to the Project Manager or Site Supervisor promptly.

Minimize waste and rework by following correct installation procedures and maintaining attention to detail in all tasks.

Assist across divisions and perform additional duties as reasonably requested to support project delivery and team efficiency.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, keeping them informed of progress, issues, and compliance requirements.

Previous experience working on commercial construction sites (preferred).

Knowledge of Passive Fire systems or mechanical/plumbing insulation (advantageous).

Current Site Safe Passport (mandatory).

Physically fit and able to work in a construction environment.

Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe work practices.

Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.

Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and processes.
