Hammer Hands / Builder’s Labourers for busy company
About this job
* Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including correct use of PPE and helping enforce safety standards among team members * Preparing and maintaining worksites for tradespeople and subcontractors * Handling, setting out, and organising tools, equipment, and building materials * Assisting with building scaffolding, formwork, and other temporary structures * Digging trenches, laying pipes, and assisting in drainage and foundation work * Mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete to required standards * Operating basic power tools, hand tools, and heavy machinery under supervision * Supporting carpenters, builders, and other trades as needed * Working closely with other construction workers, contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution * Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently * Maintaining a clean and organised construction site by removing debris, waste materials, and hazardous items
Job Requirements
* At least 1 year of on-site construction experience, including as a hammer hand or labourer * Basic knowledge and understanding of construction methods, tools, equipment, and safety regulations * Strong understanding of occupational health and safety standards * Physically fit and able to perform hands-on labour in various conditions * Must pass a drug test and an MOJ clearance check (Clear Police Clearance Report) * Reliable transport to and from work and a full New Zealand / Overseas driving licence * Familiar with Auckland CBD area * Able and willing to travel across Auckland region * Availability to work Monday to Friday, with weekends and possible evening work as required * Ability to follow instructions with excellent attention to detail * Effective teamwork skills and a collaborative mindset
