About this job
Daily tasks include but are not limited to carrying out pre-start checks, safely operating a heavy vehicle, and completing scheduled deliveries of logs or bulk materials. The role includes loading and unloading, securing loads, following delivery instructions, and driving local and regional routes. They will communicate with dispatch, meet delivery timeframes, complete paperwork and logbooks accurately, and maintain a clean, tidy truck. The job also involves identifying hazards, following all health and safety procedures, and carrying out basic vehicle care or reporting maintenance needs. They may need to assist other divisions within the trucking fleet when required. A willingness to support seasonal operations other arears such as Hawke’s Bay when needed would also be beneficial.
