We are seeking an energetic and motivated Team Leader to join our Intensive Support Services team in Palmerston North, working with youth and young adults. In this role, you’ll lead a team who support individuals to live as independently as possible, while creating a safe, positive, and empowering environment where they can develop confidence, build friendships, and engage meaningfully with their community. This position involves a mix of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts across the week and weekends, so flexibility is key.

About the Role Mo te turanga As a Team Leader, you will play both a hands-on and leadership role, guiding your team while supporting young people in their daily lives.

Your day may include: Supporting activities at home and in the community that promote independence, inclusion, and whanau involvement Assisting with household duties, daily care routines, meal preparation, and personal cares Leading and motivating your team to deliver consistent, person-centred support Implementing personal support plans and ensuring best practice is maintained Providing a nurturing, empowering environment where people feel valued and supported to achieve their goals.

Job Requirements

We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, leadership, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of others. You will bring: Police Vetting and CYRAS check required Relevant caregiving experience, including personal cares Leadership experience or a strong desire to grow into a leadership role The ability to adapt your leadership style to suit different learning needs A Level 3 (or higher) Health & Wellbeing qualification (preferred) A Full NZ Driver Licence and confidence driving disability vans A warm, calm, and encouraging approach, with excellent communication skills Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, valuing the diverse backgrounds of those we support

Days of work
Mixed shifts: Between Mon-Sun shift 1: 7am - 3pm shift 2: 3pm - 10pm shift 3: 10pm to 7am (40 hours per week)
Pay Details
$23.97 to $29.68 per/hr depending on experience or qualification.
