Community Support Worker - Intellectual Disability

We are currently looking for a Community Support Worker to join our intellectual disability residential service in Greymouth.
In this role, you will support clients to participate in meaningful activities within the community, assist with daily household tasks, and provide help with personal hygiene. You will also support clients in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau, and cultural connections.
Excellent communication and networking skills are essential, along with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, staff, and external agencies. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability sector is an advantage.
Your day to day duties may vary, but can include: • Engaging with clients • Supporting clients to set and achieve personal goals • Encouraging participation in daily routines and activities • Assisting with activities of daily living • Supporting medication needs based on client requirements • Assisting with personal hygiene • Facilitating community activities • Supporting social and whanau connection • Motivating clients and reinforcing their sense of purpose • Accurately documenting client information and processes
Job Requirements
Must be an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people with an intellectual disability who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude. A full driver's licence and computer skills are essential. If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months. If shortlisted, you must be available for an interview in Greymouth.

- Monday - Sunday. A range of shifts: nights, days, weekends. (40 hours per week)
