Silviculturist/ Arborist

Have you Silviculture or Arboriculture knowledge and/or experience specific to pine tree health? A Taupo company is looking for a full-time team member with the experience and knowledge to recognise the health of pine trees. This role does not require cutting down or pruning trees, but you must be physically fit and able to walk long distances counting pine trees and assessing and recording their health and quality. Accurate record keeping is essential. You will be a self-starter who is able to plan and manage your own workload, and able to reliably work solo or in a small team as needed, and use company devices for your work (training can be provided). Work vehicle will be provided for this role, ( for work use only ) so you will need to have a FULL Class 1 driving licence. Potential applicants will have an assessment of their pine tree growth/health knowledge, and their ability to assess the condition of pine trees. Pay rate is $27 -$30 dependent on experience. You must have: • Silviculture or Arboriculture knowledge and/or experience specific to pine tree health • Be willing to upskill and train for silviculture qualifications (if needed) • A FULL class 1 driver’s licence in order to drive company vehicles. • Be physically fit and able to walk long distances in all weathers • Be reliable and able to self-manage your workload • Work independently or as part of a team • Be able to follow instructions • Willing to assist in other roles such as gardening/soft scaping if required • Be drug free (essential) and prepared to take a pre-employment test, plus random testing on the job as required
