Welder/Rigger

The Welder/Rigger plays a key hands-on role in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of structural steel on site. This role requires strong technical ability, practical problem-solving, and strict attention to safety and quality. You’ll work alongside other skilled tradespeople and contractors to fabricate, weld, and erect steel structures to engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities: Fabrication and Welding - Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings accurately. - Measure, cut, and prepare steel components to precise specifications. - Perform MIG, MMAW, and FCAW welding to required standards. - Carry out grinding, finishing, and quality checks on all completed welds. - Maintain welding records and ensure work meets inspection requirements.
Rigging and Site Installation - Safely rig, lift, and position structural steel using cranes, slings, and chains. - Assemble and bolt structural components according to design drawings. - Work at heights safely and efficiently. - Communicate clearly with the crane operator and site team to ensure smooth and safe lifts.
Job Requirements
Essential Criteria - Minimum 2 years’ experience in structural steel welding and rigging. - Strong practical skills in MMAW, FCAW, and MIG welding. - Proven rigging experience with cranes, slings, and lifting equipment. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately. - Strong awareness of safety and best practice in lifting and working at heights. - Good teamwork and communication skills. - Physically fit and comfortable with working outdoors and at heights. -No drug test required
