The Workshop Foreman (Welder/Rigger) leads the day-to-day operations of the workshop, combining hands-on fabrication and welding expertise with team leadership. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while developing team capability and maintaining strong communication with management and site teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and support workshop staff to achieve production goals. • Promote a positive, accountable, and safe team culture. • Delegate work effectively and ensure quality outcomes. • Coordinate workflow between the workshop and project/site teams. • Support training and development of team members. Fabrication and Technical Duties • Read and interpret engineering drawings. • Measure, mark out, and fabricate metal components. • Set up and operate workshop machinery • Perform welding, grinding, and finishing to a high standard. • Conduct quality checks and complete job reports.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication. • Excellent communication and team leadership skills. • Proven ability to supervise workshop staff. • Strong problem-solving skills and practical decision-making. • Advanced welding experience and fabrication knowledge. • Competent in reading and interpreting drawings. • Proficient with fabrication tools and equipment. • Physically capable of lifting and handling large metal objects.

Days of work
Monday to Friday between 7am - 5pm. Minimum 40 hours per week. (40 hours per week)
