Fixed term Driver/Offsider

Small family-owned business who currently have six staff This business is family oriented and has a great reputation with customers because of their great staff. They are a hard-working team who all get along and have fun together. They all love working for the business.

3 months fixed term. Potential to be extended or become permanent

Full Car Licence (Class 2 would be helpful) Pick and delivery of goods from various businesses/places e.g. building sites, other businesses, or private homes. These range from BBQs, furniture, kitchens, kitset items, and a variety of other goods.

Must be able to lift large, heavy, and odd shaped goods e.g. assembled kitchens. Sometimes they have to take the goods upstairs.

They also do the odd house removal.

Sometimes they are the driver and sometimes the offsider. They deliver across Canterbury but occasionally make deliveries around the wider South Island e.g. Wanaka, Queenstown, Dunedin, West Coast.

There is some paperwork involved, simply taking invoices and getting them back to the office type stuff Great customer service skills and attitude. Willing to learn.

Need to get on with others and work in a small team; the team are pakeha, Maori and Pasifika, all ages, and all walks of life.

Adaptable to change; this can occur at any time of the day.

No major criminal convictions e.g. theft, burglary, drug dealing. DDL will overlook a person’s past, depending on how old it is and old they were at the time. DDL are open to giving people a 2nd chance.

No current or pending court appearances

Must be able to drive a manual.
