About this job

Plan Interpretation: Reading and interpreting engineering plans, drawings, and steel lists to determine the type, size, shape, quantity, and location of reinforcing steel required. • Material Preparation: Measuring, cutting, bending, and shaping steel bars (rebar) and welded wire mesh according to specifications, using hand tools, power tools, guillotines, and bending machines. • Fabrication and Assembly: Fabricating complex steel reinforcement units, such as beams, footing pads, and cages, by joining bars and mesh using welding, wiring, or clipping techniques. • Positioning and Securing: Hoisting, positioning, and securing the steel reinforcement (mesh and rebar) into the formwork (concrete moulds) for concrete pours. • Support Installation: Fitting accessories such as plastic or concrete spacers, chairs, and supports to ensure the reinforcing steel is correctly located and maintained at the specified distance from the formwork face.

Qualifications: Level 4 Certificate/ Diploma

Monday - Saturday 7am -4pm (30 hours per week)
