About this job

We’re looking for a physically fit and reliable Labourer to join our road maintenance team. This role involves patrols, vegetation control, plant operation, and general construction tasks to keep Auckland’s road network safe and functional.

Key Responsibilities: • Patrol assigned roading areas and complete maintenance tasks • Control roadside vegetation (mowing, weed eating, brush cutting) • Assist with earthworks and pavement construction • Install and maintain drainage systems • Set up and remove traffic management according to approved plans • Operate plant and complete daily maintenance checks • Escalate any equipment concerns to the Supervisor • Comply with Health & Safety standards and identify hazards on-site • Occasionally act as an on-the-job trainer for apprentices and team members

Job Requirements

• NZ Full Driver Licence (Class 1 & 2 with WTR endorsement preferred) • STMS Level 1 or 2/3 qualifications are a definite advantage • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions • Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks • Reliable and punctual – able to start at 7:00 AM • Ideally based in West Auckland for easy access to sites • All PPE provided by employer
