Excavator Operator

South Auckland based employer is seeking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join their busy team. The job is primarily based in the Auckland region, with periodic overnight travel required to Gisborne (accommodation and allowances provided).

Key responsibilities:

• Safely load and unload plant from transporters, lash down and comply with transport regulations. • Ensure loads are not over the height ,width and weight limit. • Ensure a full prestart including risk analysis is done for each job each day.This is to be completed in a joint discussion with site staff and sent via tablet at the end of the day so it is available the next day for Management review. • Ensure all site H&S and environmental controls are in place and effective at all times – complete non-conformance reports for Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental. • Ensure plant and equipment daily inspections are completed and maintenance undertaken where required. • Maintain a daily log with all pertinent information recorded.

Ideal candidate must have a can do positive attitude, have the ability to follow instructions, must be safety conscious and able to work independently and in a team environment.

Must hold a full Class NZ 2 drivers’ licence and own transport Must have drainage skill set Must have at least 2-years’ experience in a similar position Must have GPS understanding Must pass a Ministry of Justice check Must pass a drug and alcohol test
