Kaiawhina Support Worker, Residential - Pakaraka

As a key support person, you will work closely with clinical leaders to deliver high-quality, culturally grounded care. Your role will be vital in helping Wahine Whaiora achieve optimal health and reintegrate into their communities with strength and confidence. We are looking for culturally competent kaimahi who possess the skills and attitude to support whanau with High and Complex needs.

Your duties will include: - Build working relationships and partnerships with a variety of addiction and support services and networks. - Support families/whanau to engage in their recovery journey. - Connect and support whanau to appropriate services.

The ideal applicant will have: - Ability to thrive in environments of conflict, chaos, or unpredictability - Exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to maintain self-care - Proficiency in verbal, written, and computer literacy. - A positive, flexible, and compassionate approach with a non-judgemental attitude. - Ability to respond rapidly to incidents and make sound judgements

There are options for Weekends covering 12 hour shifts or Overnights

1- good knowledge/understanding of Mental Health and Addictions. 2- knowledge of Te Reo me ona Tikanga or a strong desire to learn. 3- hold the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or above (or a recognised equivalent) OR be willing to commence study towards this qualification. 4- Full NZ Driver’s License, Clean (no restrictions) for local travel 5- able to drive a Manual vehicle 6- have no criminal convictions in order to pass Police Vetting check 7- There are options for (1) Weekends covering 12 hour shifts or (2) Overnights rostered across all 7 days -please specify which option you can do , or if both are ok.
