Kitchen Hand

CANTERBURY/TIMARU (Fairlie): Our famous hotel in Fairlie is looking for a Kitchen Hand to join the team, in their establishment.

Duties include but are not limited to: • Maintaining hygiene standards and washing dishes. • Assist with general kitchen and cleaning tasks. • You will also be expected to handle all requests in a professional and timely manner. • You will be trained up to prepare and cook basic kiwi meals, such as burgers, chips, roasts, and Steaks etc.

Days and hours: • 5 days a week on a rotating roster. • 40 hours per week.

Pay Rate: $23.50 per hour.

No experience is required, But Ideally you will already have some experience working in the Hospitality Industry. All applicants must meet the below prerequisites to be considered for this role, please note if you don’t meet any of these you won’t be considered for this role.

A Full drivers' licence would be an advantage, but Restricted is ok.

You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role:

• Full Class 1 Drivers' Licence would be an advantage, but employer will also accept a someone who has a Restricted Drivers Licence. • You must be willing to work and turn up when required. • You must be able to pass a police check, and pre-employment drug test, as part of the employment process. • Hold New Zealand citizenship or have New Zealand Permanent Residency. • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a team environment. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Be reliable and flexible. • You will be hard working, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. • Ideally you will already have some experience working in a commercial kitchen.

It would be beneficial if you hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167), but not essential.
