Apple Thinning – Seasonal Orchard Work

An orchard based in the Waimea Plains is seeking Apple Thinners to start mid-November. The ideal candidate will be reliable, confident on orchard ladders, keen to work outdoors, and have good hand eye coordination. You will be removing immature fruitlets from the tree to ensure a good crop for the coming season. You will need reliable transport, and have a reasonable level of fitness.

Job Requirements
Previous experience thinning or outdoor work is an advantage however full training is provided. To be successful in this role you must have reliable transport (push bikes not suitable) as employer has a number of blocks around the Waimea plans. Some weekend work may be required (weather and crop dependent).
You must be physically fit to do tip crushing and thinning as this work is above the shoulders, under the kiwifruit canopy. No ladders are required, but steps may be used.

- 7:30am – 4:30pm on Mon – Fri and 7:30am – 12:30pm on Sat (40 hours per week)
