Work is available in Patutahi. Hardworking and reliable individuals to assist with kiwifruit thinning and canopy work during the growing season. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy outdoor work and want to be part of a dedicated team in the horticulture industry. Responsibilities: - Bud Thinning - In late winter to early spring. Remove excess or misshapen flower buds by hand to ensure the remaining buds have enough energy and space to grow into high-quality fruit. - Fruit Thinning: During the summer, in the months leading up to the harvest. Remove any small, damaged, or misshapen fruit to allow the highest-quality fruit to grow larger. In kiwifruit, the central "king" fruit is typically the largest, so smaller lateral fruit are often removed to boost the king fruit's growth. - Performing canopy work including pruning, shoot thinning, and leaf plucking. - Goal: To balance the fruit load, improve the size, flavour, and overall quality of the remaining fruit, and promote healthy vine growth. This is physically demanding, repetitive work that requires you to work under vines and be on your feet all day. The role involves looking upward and performing tasks with your arms raised above your head. A good level of physical fitness is essential. Employer will provide essential tools. Job Requirements

- You must have your ID such as Birth Cert of Passport when you apply for this job via the website - Due to the nature of the role and for health and safety reasons related to the height of the canopy, an ideal height range is between 5ft 3” (1.6m) and 5ft 10” (1.78m) - Must be physically fit and able to work on you feet all day - Have attention to detail, self motivated and a team player . - Random drug tests and alcohol tests apply. - Convictions will be considered on a case by case basis
