A South Indian restaurant in Mt Roskill is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join their kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a key role in food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality South Indian cuisine in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
-Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes according to the Head Chef's standards. -Managing the day-to-day operations of their designated kitchen section. -Managing and training junior staff, such as Commis Chefs, working within their section. -Monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and reporting shortages to the Sous or Head Chef. -Supervising the cleaning and organization of the kitchen station, utensils, and equipment. -Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and smooth kitchen operations.
Job Requirements
-Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen. -Knowledge of South Indian cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredients. -Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
