Short order cook/Chef
About this job
We’re looking for a reliable and motivated team member with fryer and kitchen experience to join our busy takeaway. The ideal candidate will be confident cooking a variety of menu items, maintaining high food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service.
Key responsibilties: - Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards, including operating fryers and maintaining equipment cleanliness - Follow gluten-free requirements to avoid cross-contamination - Check off and correctly store deliveries; top up menu items as needed - Take charge of the shift, supervising staff and overseeing day-to-day operations when the employer is not present - Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including operating the POS till - Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace at all times
Job Requirements
2 years previous experience working fryers and in a fast-paced kitchen environment Experience running shifts or acting in a lead role is preferred Good customer service and communication skills Honest, trustworthy, and reliable—able to turn up on time for every shift Flexibility with working hours and days Must have a tidy appearance and have excellent personal hygiene Must pass Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and drug checks
