The purpose of the role of Strawberry planters is to manually plant and cultivate strawberry crops under the direction of the Team Leader/Supervisor/Farm Manager. Planters report to the Team Leader/Supervisor/Farm Manager. This is a 3 week contract in May dates to be confirmed DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES o Plant Strawberries into holes in the plastic mounds and plant new season plants using tool o Set up/move irrigation pipes and maintain ditches as required. o General maintenance as required from time to time.
Job Requirements
o Must be able to bend for long periods of time. o Can work well with others. o Excellent hand-eye coordination, and be able to perform laborious tasks repeatedly (involves lifting, bending & kneeling) o Good strong work ethic and ability to work quickly and methodically. o Must have a good level of fitness. o Be able to work outside in all conditions (wet weather gear will be provided - You are welcome to use you own). o Be flexible as days of work are set around weather and plant availability. The days and hours of work will be communicated to the applicant on a day-by-day basis (generally the day before)- o Training will be provided to any successful applicants. o Please be advised that we are a DRUG and ALCOHOL free employer
Please note that strawberry plants are grown in mounds at ground level - you will be required to bend for long periods of time whilst performing this task.
