An Upper Hutt Establishment is looking for bar staff to join their team. You’ll work in a lively and social setting, interacting with a diverse group of customers, from regulars to newcomers. The atmosphere is energetic, with multiple tasks happening simultaneously. It can be quiet during the day and get lively at night, creating an exciting and fast-paced work environment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Greet and serve customers with a friendly, positive attitude, ensuring a great experience. • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes and customer preferences. • Prepare and cook bar food items, ensuring quality and presentation meets standards. • Oversee and maintain the game room, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, resolving any issues, and assisting customers with games when needed. • Process customer payments accurately, including cash and credit cards. • Keep the bar area clean and organized, including countertops, glassware, and utensils. • Monitor stock levels and restock supplies as needed, ensuring the bar is fully stocked and ready for service. • Ensure compliance with alcohol laws, health regulations, and responsible service of alcohol. • Handle customer queries, resolve issues, and provide recommendations based on preferences. • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient service and a smooth-running bar. • Ensure all bar equipment is functioning properly and report any issues. • Closing the till at the end of the night shift, accurately count the money, and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.

Job Requirements
• Experience in customer service, retail and hospitality would be an advantage. • LCQ required, Duty Managers would be an advantage (Willing to train someone without LCQ if they have the right attitude) • Full license preferred due to hours, otherwise must have safe and reliable transport. Can not rely on public transport during night shifts. • Convictions are on case by case - No assault or theft. • Updated CV required.
