Barista/Server

We are looking for a great person that has at least 2 years of cafe experience (Barista/Service) to work 30+ hours a week.

Amazing customer service is critical, this is not a job standing behind a till waiting for customers. You need to be proactive and ensure the customer has an amazing experience, this included getting out from behind the counter and greeting the customer, advising on Chefs Menu or Cabinet Food providing fast service with a friendly attitude that makes the customer want to come back.

You need to ensure the cafe is clean (this means clearing tables as soon as they are empty, Menus are clean, Salt & Pepper are full, cutlery is clean and set ready for the next customer to use). Cleaning all parts of the cafe, including floor, counters, equipment, fridges, toilets, shelving, display cabinets is essential and is just as important as making a great coffee.

An experienced Barista should know how to check coffee pour times and how to adjust the equipment. Customer pay a lot of their hard earned money and deserve to treated with respect and provided with great service, great coffee and great food.

All food should be checked before service, ensuring that it looks great and is what the customer ordered. We have an amazing ordering system that provides all the instructions for the Barista/Chef, accurate order taking is important and the system will help you take the customer through the options.

Communications with the customers and other staff is critical, this includes up selling. The ability to introduce new foods/items to the customer or adding extras to make this meal/food/coffee into something they will remember.

Pay is based on your skills, your interactions with customers and your ability to do the job efficiently, if you are doing a great job and customers are raving about you and the cafe is clean and well-presented will earn more.
