Purpose of the role:
This role is for the leaders, motivators and organisers who can manage people and shifts like a boss. You’ll be the Rocky Balboa of burgers, you’ll know the rule book (systems and procedures) by heart and make sure all burgers are made to the highest quality and standard. Being a shift manager is like being a platoon leader, managing your team through effective communication, quality control and most importantly, keeping your cool when times get hot! Nonetheless, you’ll be a customer service expert, which means you’ll run your shift operations to provide only the best burger experience to all customers during all operating hours.

Key responsibilities of the role:
- Complying with systems/manuals such as Food & Packaging Manual, Food Safety Plan, Kitchen Log Book and Prep List - Responsible for food quality, customer service and cleanliness of the shift - Opening and/or closing the store (Cash Up and Lock Up procedures) - Motivating employees to attain the highest standards - Training employees on correct procedures - Ordering supplies and product (and addressing any issues regarding these) - Taking and resolving customer complaints/feedback - Assisting with staff rosters and payroll as and when needed - To be aware of any quality issues, especially relating to product safety and shelf life - Ensure store and staff hygiene is maintained to the highest standard - Attend and actively participate in weekly Shift Manager’s Meetings - Must be on time and remain on site for entire shift
Key Competencies to be successful in this role:
- Attention to detail: especially when managing cash-up procedures and handling money. - Leadership: being authoritative when needed, but fair. Shift Managers should know when to delegate, how to delegate and lead by example. - Personality: a friendly, calm and personable demeanour. - Communication: delivering effective and clear communication to Store Staff is vital. - Problem Solving: uses reason and logic to resolve a problem. Can analyse all the relevant information and create an effective solution. - Teamwork: actively participates as a member of a team to move positively toward the completion of goals. - Standards: sets high standards of self-performance, assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing tasks.
Job Requirements
At least 1 years experience in a burger store, fast food store, or restaurant is required for this role. Strong leadership and communication skills. Outstanding customer service. Negotiation and delegation skills. Able to withstand periods of standing and lifting objects. Desirable to have health & safety qualifications, first aid certificate, and food safety qualifications. Employer is conducting a MOJ check and is seeking candidates with a clear record.

- Wednesday 5pm-12am, Thursday 5pm-1am, Friday and Saturday 6pm-3am, Sunday 6pm-11.30pm (38.5 hours per week)
