Class 5 Truck Driver (x2)

A transportation company is currently looking for Heavy Truck Drivers with at least 2 years experience The long haul runs including travelling from Auckland to Christchurch and also Auckland to Wellington.

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. • Collect and verify delivery instructions. • To ensure the truck is loaded appropriately and materials recorded correctly. • Report defects, accidents or violations. • Manoeuvre trucks into loading and / or unloading positions. • Complete and manage Logbook.

• Must have a class 5 Driver's License • Must have 2 years of experience operating line haul Truck & Trailers. • Must have Dangerous Goods and Forklift Licenses. • Must be physically fit for some potential lifting. • Must able to work across weekends and outside normal working hours. • Flexible with night and day shift hours. • Be able to pass a Pre-Employment drug and alcohol test, and random drug testing as required. • Must pass a criminal background check and have a clean driving record. • Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to handle hazardous conditions. • Must be proficient in speaking English.
