Courier Van Driver
About this job
As a courier driver, your key responsibilities are:
- Collecting items for delivery from our client’s premises - Use of handheld scanners to log information - Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules - Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries - Assisting with loading and unloading the van - Monitoring the roads to ensure the most efficient routes are taken to and from the various delivery and pick-up locations - Delivering mail, parcels, and packages to customers’ businesses and homes - Collecting signatures from customers and completing paperwork. - Maintaining delivery and collection records (electronic and paper). - Obeying the road rules and meeting health and safety requirements - Carrying out regular maintenance checks on the van - Keeping the van clean and tidy.
Job Requirements
- Full New Zealand Class 2 Driver’s Licence with D Endorsement (mandatory) - Minimum 2 years’ experience driving commercial vehicles. - Be physically fit and able to lift heavy packages (up to 25 kg). - Be Honest and Reliable - Be Punctual - Be Drug-free and be able to pass drug tests on any random day (Pre-employment drug test is required - mandatory) - Have good attention to detail - Clean Criminal History (Pre-employment Criminal check is required - mandatory) - Monday to Saturday availability, between 5:00 am to 6:00 pm (flexibility is crucial due to varying business demands).
