Unregistered Teacher (Preschool Aide)

Manurewa based employer is looking for an Unregistered Teacher (Preschool Aide) to work in the centre with the children, to work with the programme and to carry out scheduled duties, maintain a flexible attitude. Plan and organise suitable developmental activities for the children to carry out. Initially under supervision, until an acceptable level of competence is reached, understand the Childhood Regulations and how they are applied or covered by the centre’s methods, children’s learning experience and resources, increase ability to handle children in a positive way, interactions with children are frequent and meaningful, demonstrate respect and observe children’s interest, keep safety. Enhance and extend children’s play with language, equipment and activities, communicate with each child at the child’s level, engage and communicate constructively with individual children during activities and routines. Encourage and model social behaviour and expectations. Acknowledge feelings with sensitivity and demonstrate appropriate expression of emotions.
