A busy and thriving establishment in Rotorua are looking for a passionate part-time chef/cook to join there fantastic team. The restaurant is open Thursday through Saturday, with additional hours for functions.

About the Role: We’re seeking someone with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute creatively to the menu. Whether you’re an experienced chef seeking a less stressful role or a new culinary talent looking to build your skills, we want to hear from you!

You will work directly with there Cook to deliver exceptional, high-quality food. As part of there tight-knit team, reliability is key, and we’re looking for someone who pays attention to detail and takes pride in their work.

The Ideal Candidate:

Positive attitude and a willingness to contribute creatively. Reliability is a must (we are a small, close team). Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.

Job Requirements

Menu Planning & Development: Collaborate with the Manager to plan and develop menu items, ensuring creativity and consistency. Food Preparation & Cooking: Execute the preparation and cooking of buffet dishes, a la carte items, and bar menu offerings according to established recipes and high-quality standards. Ingredient Quality Control: Monitor ingredient quality, ensuring freshness and proper storage to maintain food quality. Hygiene & Sanitation: Conduct regular checks to ensure high hygiene and sanitation standards are met within the kitchen. Teamwork: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow. Training & Guidance: Assist in training and guiding kitchen assistants or junior staff, helping them develop their skills. Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. Food Safety: Properly handle, store, and prepare food to prevent contamination and maintain food safety. Customer Service: Interact with membe
