We have four well known venues in Auckland that each need new kitchen assistants within their ranks.
The Paddington, Parnell (this is the predominant work address at 117 St Georges Bay Road) Malt Public House, Grey Lynn De Post, Mt Eden De Fontein, Mission Bay Stonefields Public House, Stonefields These venues are busy and fun places to work. All have varied menus that cater to ala carte customers, functions and special events. We even have a bakery operation that supplies our own baked good to the group. Every day is different!
We're looking for people who can fit with our existing team and hit the ground running. Our company is family owned and extremely stable, with a track record of success and growing our employees through the ranks.
Successful candidates should be able to work under pressure; be able to work during weekends, shifting schedule; be able to maintain and adhere to food, safety, and hygiene standards. Job Requirements
Collect and prepare the cooking utensils and containers such as pots and pans that will be used by Chef in preparation for cooking; Accurately weigh and measure ingredients needed for cooking as instructed by the Chef; Assist the Chef in the preparation of ingredients for cooking such as washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and dicing various ingredients; Ensure that all ingredients for cooking are cut/ground/diced in preparation for cooking; Make sure that cooked food is removed from oven and food warmers on time; Prepare dishes that require little or no cooking, such as preparing salads and heating of food; Ensure that kitchen utensils, dishes, equipment, appliance, and silverware are always washed and cleaned; Ensure that the work station and food preparation areas in the kitchen are cleaned and sanitized; Ensure that kitchen utensils, equipment, dishes, and food supplies are properly stored and maintained in their appropriate storage areas; Take record of food supplies ensuring that the kitchen always has enough stock and inform the Chef and Food Trade Workers when supplies are low; Follow all hygiene and Health and Safety regulations within the kitchen; Participate in team meetings; Follow instructions from the Chef and other tasks necessary for the efficiency of the kitchen. Preferred Competencies Technical / Qualifications / Experience NZQA Level 4 (trade cert or diploma or equivalent) Three years experience in ala carte kitchens min. Ability to use a knife and moving and operating kitchen equipment safely
Interpersonal Excellent Communication skills, customer service and leadership Knowledge in food handling and hygiene
