Community support and care positions

Would you like a job where you can make a genuine difference in people’s lives? Have you considered support or caregiving work? Or housekeeping like laundry and cleaning in a resthome? Or kitchen work? We work with community and disability support providers and resthomes in Masterton, Carterton, Greytown & Featherston to find kind, caring, capable and reliable staff. There are a wide variety of jobs available including kitchen, health care assistant, laundry and cleaning with workplace assessed pay progressive NZQA qualifications. Clients are of all ages - they may be elderly, have an intellectual or physical disability or be recovering from illness or surgery. Your place of work could be in someone’s home, a community-based group home, a residential facility or a resthome. Job tasks are varied and interesting and may consist of some of the following: community outings, assistance with dressing and/or mobility, personal cares (in some jobs this is minimal), household management. Hourly rate paid is dependent on the type of job you are successful in gaining.

Job Requirements
A Drivers licence is not always required. Some of the jobs do include alternate weekend work and and/or rostered hours. Many positions will initially start as casual & pay above minimum wage. Wakeovers and sleepovers a couple of nights a week can be a great way to supplement your income. Some criminal convictions will preclude you from these positions. Full time, part time and casual jobs are available.
