Driver / Operator - Drainage and Hydro Excavation

Are you an experienced Driver professional looking for your next challenge? Join our dynamic team as a Driver / Operator - Drainage and Hydro Excavation where you'll be responsible for Driving class 2 to Class 4 Vehicles, along with operating Hydrovac and other heavy machinery for a variety of construction projects (full training given on the Drainage & Hydro aspect of the role)
Key Responsibilities: • Operate hydro excavation and related machinery to excavate, load, dig, or break rocks, dirt, and debris in line with client specifications. • Driving class 2 to 4 vehicles to transport equipment to sites in Auckland and Hamilton. • Ensure vehicles and machinery are maintained to the highest standard, reporting any issues promptly. • Build and maintain strong customer relationships on-site while ensuring work is carried out efficiently. • Maintain a focus on safety, always ensuring the wellbeing of yourself and others. • Complete job documentation, including accurate recording of materials used and disposal. • Assist with the supervision and development of Hydrovac Laborers. • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and report any damage to management.
Job Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience: • Class 2,3 or 4 Driver’s License (Required) • Strong ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks. • Previous experience in the construction industry or similar roles preferred • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing outstanding service. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients. • Ability to travel between job sites and work flexible hours as required. • Previous experience with uploading timesheets digitally. • Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice check, and a Drug & Alcohol test. • Must be a Resident or Aus/NZ Citizen.
Desired Skills & Attributes: • Experience operating hydro excavation equipment. • Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills. • Site Safe Certification
