Are you passionate about creating brighter futures for tamariki and supporting whanau who open their hearts and homes through foster care? A Non government organisation is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their dedicated Foster Care team in Auckland!
About the role As a Social Worker in their Foster Care service, you'll play a crucial role in supporting tamariki, rangatahi, and whanau through: Providing assessment, planning, placement and referral services for children and young people Supporting and training foster carers to ensure quality care delivery Developing and implementing care plans in consultation with birth families and caregivers Managing complex relationships with multiple stakeholders including government agencies Writing court reports and providing evidence when required Contributing to the recruitment and assessment of new foster carers Ensuring all practices align with relevant legislation and organisations policies
To excel, you'll need: Proven experience working with tamariki, rangatahi and whanau Proven experience and a passion to engage with people affected by family harm and who are reluctant to engage The ability to work autonomously and have excellent time management skills Excellent communication and organisational skills; strong computer literacy and reporting skills Flexibility and resilience to meet the needs of the role A recognised qualification under the Social Workers Registration Act 2003 and current registration as a Social Worker Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in child protection Have an unrestricted NZ Drivers Licence, and a sense of humour
