Orchard Supervisor (Te Kaha)

Ensure Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations. Manage Resources: Plan and allocate human resources, manage personnel training, and ensure the availability of necessary equipment. Staff Supervision: Oversee the duties of orchard workers, monitor performance, provide feedback, and ensure staff meet company standards. Crop Health Management: Keep crops healthy and disease-free, recording spray programs as needed. Motivation and Training: Encourage and motivate staff, providing continuous training on orchard tasks such as pruning, thinning, and vine management. Problem Solving & Reporting: Address issues, resolve challenges, and report on daily productivity, losses, and other operational matters. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with growers and landowners to ensure high standards of work and resolve issues.
Job Requirements
Strong knowledge of the horticulture or agriculture industry. Experience in orchard operations, with supervisory experience would be an advantage however relevant training will be provided. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours and weekend shifts if required. Physically fit to meet the demands of the role. Pre-employment drug testing, a criminal record check, and reference checks from suitable referees are required.
