Orchard Supervisor (Opotiki)

Plan and allocate Human Resources, discussing needs with the Director or PA. Manage personnel activities, including training and supervision, as directed. Organize and control equipment and materials to ensure availability for team members. Monitor staff performance to meet business standards, motivating them to achieve optimum output. Provide continuous training on orchard pruning, thinning, vine training, weeding, and cosmetic thinning based on market demands. Evaluate worker performance and develop new strategies. Assist in monitoring annual production and targets with the Director or PA. Address and resolve onsite issues related to farm work. Provide feedback on worker performance and suggest improvements. Understand labour costs and time management for workers. Monitor and report losses, accidents, costs, or other site issues to the Director/PA. Liaise with growers and landowners to ensure work standards are met and resolve any current or potential issues.
Job Requirements
Ideal Candidate: The role primarily focuses on managing people and ensuring that all assigned tasks are effectively organized and completed on time. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including customer service, hospitality, retail, agriculture, and related fields. High School Qualification is the minimum qualification. While 6-12 months of experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Any prior work experience in New Zealand will be considered an advantage. Experience in orchard operations, with supervisory experience would be an advanatge however relvant training will be provided. Ability to work flexible hours and weekend shifts if required. Physically fit to meet the demands of the role. Need to pass drug test and MOJ Check
