Fill room Operator - Leading Hand (night shift)

This hands-on role focuses on the day-to-day operation, changeovers, and maintenance of our filler and closure equipment. As a leading hand, you’ll train and guide new or less experienced team members on wine bottling machinery operation. Daily Tasks Summary: Perform accurate production quality checks to ensure outputs meet standards. Set up, operate, and change over fillroom machinery (rinser, filler, capper, filtration). Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime. Complete production paperwork and logs. Train team members on machinery, quality standards, and procedures. Foster a quality-focused environment with attention to detail and teamwork. Communicate with 2IC/Team Leader on production targets and updates. Maintain fill room cleanliness and equipment standards. Liaise with cellar, lab, and transport teams on bulk wine schedules. Lead by example, demonstrating a proactive attitude and commitment to improvement.

Minimum of 12 months’ experience in wine bottling or similar beverage production. Familiarity with filling equipment and packing line machinery in FMCG environments. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve mechanical issues quickly. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence in training and supporting others. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and offer solutions. Mechanical aptitude to adjust, modify, or repair machines during bottling runs. HACCP training or knowledge of HACCP requirements. Chemical handling training is favorable. Experience or knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) in the food and beverage industry. Strong attention to detail, able to troubleshoot and resolve bottling issues. Proactive attitude and ability to work 12-hour shifts.
