An excellent opportunity for a logistics and supply chain professional with a progressive, well established company supplying customised packaging solutions. Facility is accredited to ISO9001, FSC and food safety FSSC22000 standards. Based in Mt Wellington and reporting to the Planning Manager, the role spans procurement, purchasing, planning and logistics.

Purchasing and planning duties: -Managing supplier relationships to optimise on time delivery, quality, pricing and terms of trade. -Securing and negotiating new suppliers for critical raw materials. -Managing planning data to ensure inventory levels meet company targets while ensuring customer expectations are met. -Utilising ERP systems and liaising with the sales team to ensure accurate materials purchasing. -Coordinating stock takes and management of one direct report. -Monitoring delivery of materials with a particular focus on import deliveries.

Logistics duties: -Analysis of the forecast export demand and planning the container requirements for export to meet customer deliveries. -Coordination with the Dispatch and Sales teams while monitoring the manufacturing plan to meet customer delivery requirements for local and national customer supply. -Proactively communicate orders that will be late or under quantity. -Liaison with logistics providers to ensure the export plan is met & generate export documentation in a timely manner. -Manage Freight Forwarder service relationships, managing on time supply, negotiate costs of service and measurement of performance. -Liaise with logistics providers to ensure the on time delivery of import deliveries and expedite where necessary or liaise with sales to manage customer delivery expectations. -Managing 3PL storage.

Job Requirements

-Experience using ERP systems with a strong understanding of purchasing and logistics systems. -Demonstrated experience in the use of MRP to manage a materials supply chain that has long lead times and the vast majority of materials are imported. -Minimum 1 years experience in purchasing and negotiations maintaining a strong supplier relationship while meeting target DIFOTIS levels . -Experience in expediting purchasing orders to ensure on time delivery of materials meet the manufacturing plan -Experience managing logistics providers and the use of MRP systems to plan the export demand and booking of export containers and completion of documentation. -Experience managing staff. -Experience working with dispatch teams managing local, national and export freight. -Experience measuring DIFOTIS and analysing and implementing preventative action to DIFOTIS failures. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills & Excellent organisation and time-management skills. -Analytical, initiative, interpersonal effectiveness will be essential attributes for success. Ability to learn things quickly and multi-task well. -An intermediate to advanced level working knowledge of the MS Office Suite (especially Excel). Formal qualification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management while not essential would be considered favourably.
