The key responsibilities of this role are to:

• Develop, coordinate, promote, and deliver of a wide range of services, programs, and events aimed at adult customers across the Upper Hutt Libraries network, across our seven-day operation. This may require occasional flexibility with hours of work to support our premier events. • Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of community groups, organisations, agencies, and other Council teams, to facilitate and respond to ideas for services, community-led programs, and Hot Seats. This includes coordination of bookings for our public spaces. • Ensure that all service points within the Central Library are staffed with appropriately trained staff across our seven-day operation. This involves coordination of rosters and our on-call team.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A passion for providing excellent customer service and be capable of dealing with the public in a confident, calm, and friendly manner that will bring credit to yourself and the Council. • Be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload. • A high degree of motivation and a willingness to embrace opportunities. • Teamwork skills and the ability to mentor, coach, and train colleagues. • A clear understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi Principles. • An understanding of public libraries and their role in their communities. • Technical competence with MS Office, smart devices, and other libraries related technology.
