Employment Consultant

A leading provider of employment and vocational rehabilitation services throughout New Zealand opportunity has arisen for an Employment Consultant to join our team, based in our offices at Commercial Bay, Auckland CBD.

The Employment Consultant’s work with clients referred to Alpha Consultants by the Ministry of Social Development, and other organisations to support them into meaningful and durable employment.

As an employment consultant, you’ll work with a high degree of independence, and be responsible for: • Actively cold calling and networking with employers to broker employment opportunities for clients • Developing career and job search plans • Creating market ready CV’s • Providing coaching and support to clients to ready them for job interviews • Connecting clients with short term industry training to upskill them • Providing post-placement support to ensure that your clients are successful in sustaining their new employment. Our clients come from a broad range of backgrounds and walks of life. This role would best suit someone who is able to motivate others, navigate barriers and challenges, and help others to realise the benefits of paid employment.

Applicants need to have the right to work in NZ, hold a Full Class 1 Driver Licence, and be able to pass a criminal record check. A background in recruitment, vocational rehab for people with health conditions, and have a network of employers or employer associations would be an advantage.
