Kitchen Hand / Cooks Assistant

A Mt Wellington based ethnic takeaways is seeking Kitchen Hand / Cooks Assistant to joint their team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Asian and Indian cuisine.

As a Kitchen Hand, you are to support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen through food preparation and dishwashing.

You are a quick-thinking multitasker, who can perform a wide range of tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

It is essential that you are a reliable member of staff who exemplifies great time-management and communication skills.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Capacity to work as part of a team Good organisational skills Ability to follow directions and safety requirements Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively

Working as part of the kitchen, you will provide support across the following:

Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of food, as required General washing and cleaning Cleaning benches, floors and other kitchen areas Ensuring the kitchen is clean and sanitary Implementing all hygiene and Health & Safety regulations Handling, sorting and distributing food items Prepare meats and other ingredients according to guidelines About you:

Good verbal communication skill Must work well in a team Organised Punctual and reliable Focused and dedicated Friendly, energetic and hard-working attitude Willing to learn Answer the phone, Serving and Customer Service when required Have a strong focus on food hygiene and cleanliness Working with the chef to unload and put away stock
