Reintegration Officer

A full-time Reintegration Officer is needed in Wiri. Your responsibilities will include the management, supervision, care, rehabilitation, integration and provision of services to prisoners on a daily basis. The ideal candidate must have the ability to make positive change in communities every day, demonstrating strong personal qualities and be respectful to others and able to build a rapport, good negotiating and solution focussed skills. Well developed listening and reasoning skills. Previous experience in a similar role advantageous.Please note positions are at the Wiri male correction facility. The ideal candidate must be a Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen. You need to be physically fit, have a high level of integrity, empathy, excellent communication skills, and resilience to work in a challenging environment. Applicants must be able to pass a police check and drug test. Previous experience in a related field is preferred. Able to work a 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays. Familiar with Maori and pacific customs and language desirable. Competent in the use of office technology.
