Construction Management/Quantity Surveying Programme Leader

Christchurch City: We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our educational institution as a Construction Management/Quantity Surveying (QS) Programme Leader (PL). Ideally this individual would also do some teaching on both the Construction and QS Diplomas on offer.
This role will straddle both the New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Construction Management) Level 6 and the New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Quantity Surveying) Level 6 and will see the successful person join the current team delivering both these qualifications.
The PL role involves managing and leading both the two year diplomas whilst also, ideally, doing some teaching.
The PL will need to carry academic programme management skills as well as have the related subject matter knowledge, will oversee the day-to-day delivery across both programmes to ensure the academic rigour and compliance aspects are managed in accordance with the approved NZQA qualification requirements.
The role could be part-time or full-time, depending on the skills and experience you bring to the table.
Construction Programme Leader Key Responsibilities: • Manage the overall programme delivery schedule, assessment and moderation and the academic calendar. • Develop and manage course content, assessment tools, and teaching resources. • Engage with industry stakeholders, including the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS), to ensure programme relevance. • Coordinate all second year work placements. • Support staff in delivering a high-quality learning experience. • Monitor student progress and provide guidance and support as needed. • Ensure compliance with NZQA requirements and our policies.
Job Requirements
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field. • Hold a current QS Regulatory Body (NZIQS) registration or can renew easily (assistance available for renewal). • Experience in academic programme management, curriculum development, and academic delivery. • Strong communication and organisational skills. • Experience working with stakeholders and industry professionals. • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle) and educational technology. • Certain Criminal conviction will be considering, depending on the nature of the offence and timeframes etc.
