Assistant Restaurant Manager

Busy cafe based in Riverhead, 15 minutes drive from Albany or 20 minutes from Westgate is looking for a reliable and experienced second in charge to help with smooth running of the thriving business.

Ideally, you will love food, coffee and nice local customers! You will fit right in if you also have experience in running small but productive teams at any busy eateries.

Your workday will most likely look like this:

-You will motivate, train, and lead a team of service staff. -Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service, and adherence to health and safety standards. -Maintain a customer-centric focus, addressing customer concerns. -Monitor and manage inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure proper stock levels. -Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to contribute to the restaurant's profitability. -Create and manage staff schedules, balancing workload and optimising labour costs. -Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and promote career growth. -Assist with staff recruitment. Support overall business management and strategic planning. -Prepare and maintain daily sales reports, cash reconciliation and petty cash. -Promote menu items, create specials and undertake the necessary advertising.
