Head Chef

A local Upper Hutt business is on the lookout for a Head Chef. You will oversee the running of the kitchen and all food being developed from the site. That entails: concept development, production, costing and delivery. In addition, your duties and responsibilities include: • Recipe development and costing, aiming for 25% food costs • Training line chefs • Managing rosters and leave for kitchen team, aiming for 25% wage costs • Ordering stock and maintaining responsible stock levels • Maintaining equipment The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar role, have excellent communication skills, motivational and leadership skills, be a team player and be reliable and flexible to change. Job Requirements
The ideal candidate must have/be a: • Excellent communication skills, motivational and leadership skills • Team player (‘we’ not ‘me’) • Knowledge of employment agreements and law • Ability to give instructions • Committed to team, establishment and excellence • Positive attitude, outgoing, friendly and approachable personality (“be a radiator, not a drain”) • Ability to work competently under pressure • Good communication, people and problem solving skills • Polite, friendly and helpful • Reliable and flexible to change • Be well groomed, in appropriate uniform, at all times whilst on duty
