Kiwifruit Tip Crushing and Flower Thinning

Our Waimea Plains based employer are a large, well established horticultural operation with a focus on growing superior quality apples, kiwifruit, feijoa, and boysenberries. Their 250H of orchard are on flat land that is only a 10-minute drive from the local township of Richmond. They currently have positions in Kiwifruit for Tip Crushing and Flower Thinning from approximately early/mid-October to mid-November 2024.

The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and some weekend work may be required (weather and crop dependent).

You must be physically fit to do tip crushing and flower thinning as this work is above the shoulders, under the kiwifruit canopy. No ladders are required, but steps may be used.

Must be eligible to work in NZ and have reliable transport.

We do not have any accommodation on our orchards.

You must be a fit, healthy, strong, reliable and active person who enjoys working outside in all conditions, preferably with experience in using general gardening equipment, shovels etc as well as hand saws and pruning secateurs. People with shoulder injuries won't be suitable as you will be working in the kiwifruit canopy above your head.

You must be available to work 2 October - 15 November. You must have a reliable source of transport as location is rural and no bus service nearby.
