Mechanical Fitter

Employer based in Wiri is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Engineer for the plant. Responsibilities include - • Apply safety and environmental standards as per Company policy and procedure. • Maintains excellent housekeeping. • Ability to carry out an assessment of the plant to identify problems (mechanical aptitude). • Ability to fix mechanical issues and projects. • Maintains an intimate knowledge of the plant. • Maintains a thorough knowledge of SOP’s and collaboratively update SOP’s for relevance. • Carry out on the run preventative and predictive maintenance checks scheduled for the equipment • Assisting with job planning as training permits. • Timely and accurate entry of production data. • Ensure product specification is correct according to quality standards

Other Tasks - As requested, undertake projects or activities as required by the business.

Experience requirements and additional details for vacancy: • Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner, Fitter/Welder, Level 4 Maintenance & Diagnostics). • At least 5 years Industrial experience • Forklift – OSH and ‘F’ endorsement • Ability to work autonomously. • Understanding of health and safety regulations in manufacturing and warehouse setting • Good Communication – verbal and written. • Computer literate and good knowledge of Microsoft suit. • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset. • Participate in the planning and execution of Safety Improvements across the plant. • Ability to liaise and manage contractors through a permit to work system. • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, control spare parts inventory and any additional relevant information.
