Localised is the commercial arm of the Zero Waste Network, they are passionate about developing places across New Zealand where communities can recycle, reuse and repair products to send less to landfill.

Join the team in Point England as a Yard and Reuse Worker and play a vital role in the smooth operation of their Zero Waste Hubs! You will report to the Yard or Reuse Supervisor and work in two key areas of the site:

Yard (including Public Drop-Off): • Maintain a clean and tidy yard. • Receive and categorize materials into approximately 24 categories (e.g., scrap metal, e-waste, reusable items, polystyrene). • Utilize various equipment and manual handling to move materials to designated areas for further processing, dismantling, or transfer off-site.

Reuse Distribution, Deconstruction & Retail: • Promote a positive customer experience. • Keep distribution, processing, and retail areas organized and clean. • Display items in their correct categories to enhance visibility and accessibility.

Job Requirements

• Experience in an operations setting and the environment sector is preferred. • Passion for working with people and engaging with the community, along with a commitment to achieving zero waste goals, are essential. • High level of energy and a genuine interest in learning about the circular economy. This position requires candidates to make informed decisions about reusability and to have a strong commitment to diverting materials from the waste stream. • Physically fit, as it is an active position that involves manual handling and various tasks throughout the day • Hold a full Class 1 driver licence with a reliable transport and a valid forklift endorsement • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test, previous convictions may be considered on a case-by-case basis • Cover Letter + up-to-date CV with contactable references

Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
